Ms. Kimberly Palmer
This is Ms. Kim's 6th year at AAM. Originally form Nova Scotia, Canada, however she now calls Dubai home. Ms Kim attend Dalhousie University, and has a Masters degree from Buffalo State in New York. Ms Kim's has previously taught in Canada, Abu Dhabi, and Mexico. Ms Kim says " I am immensely proud to be part of such a wonderful AAM community. The school's professional atmosphere and commitment to single gender education are motivating. I love teaching and each day I am happy to come to school, to work with such promising students, and to learn about their personalities, interest, and learning styles. I am lucky to be working with such a terrific group of girls in Grade 2 and look forward to another year of learning, friendship, and fun".
Ms. Janet Jackson
Ms. Janet is from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and this is her third year at AAM. She has taught in Canada in various elementary grades and also in Guatemala for two years. Ms Janet has a diploma in Early Education and a Masters degree in Overseas Education. She says, " It has been wonderful being here and getting to know so many wonderful girls and their parents. Learning about and experiencing the culture in the UAE has been rewarding and exciting."
Ms. Laura Cianfrini
Ms. Laura grew up in Ontario, Canada and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph. Then she went on to complete her Master's In Education at Medaille College in Buffalo, New York. This is Ms Laura's 5th year at AAM.
Ms. Kelly Sutton
Ms. Kelly serves as AAM's 2nd grade teacher and is from Upstate New York. She holds a B.S in Early Childhood Education from the College of Charleston (Charleston, SC) & M.Ed in English Language Learners from Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN). Ms Kelly previously taught Kinder in Italy and 1st and 2nd grade in Charleston, SC. Ms Kelly is excited to start the school year and get to know everyone at AAM.
Ms. Katherine Lum
Ms. Katherine has been an elementary teacher for 11 years. She earned her Master's in Teaching in Washington State and taught both 3rd and 5th grades there. She recently returned from Bogota, Colombia where she taught math to 1st and 2nd graders. Ms Katherine is excited to work with the 4th grade girls at AAM this year, and looks forward to sharing her passion for learning with them.
Ms. Jennifer Pusker
Ms. Jennifer is the 4th grade Math teacher. She has been teaching for 14 years in grades 1st -8th. She taught for 12 years in California before coming to Dubai to gain experience teaching English as a second language. She received her BA in Physical Education with a concentration in exercise physiology from Sonoma State University and her teaching accreditation from the University of San Diego. "Teaching in the UAE has strenghened my skills as a teacher, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities that I have been given to touch students' lives at AAM."
Ms. Melissa Burrell
Ms. Melissa is the 6th Grade Math and Science teacher. She is from Plymouth, New Hampshire in the U.S. Ms Melissa has a BS in Childhood Studies and previously taught in Gilford NH, USA.
Ms. Melissa Davis
Ms Alison Burrows
Miss Alison Burrows is the 6th grade humanities teacher at AAM. She has a bachelor's degree in developmental psychology from Bard College in New York State. After college, Miss Alison spent 4 years on Wall Street working in the equities department of a major investment bank. Her passion for working with children strongly re-emerged during her fourth year on Wall street and she resigned to train to become a teacher. In 2006, Miss. Alison received her master's degree in elementary education from New York University in New York City. She is affiliated with the NYU campus in Abu Dhabi and is a committee member of the GCC NYU alumni group. Miss. Alison is a member of the Columbia University Reading and Writing Project where she attends workshops each summer to improve her teaching of literacy skills. She has previously taught in schools in New York City and Abu Dhabi.
