Ms. April Dahlquist Ms. April was born in the Pacific Northwest, USA this is her first international teaching experience. She comes to AAM with over a decade of teaching experience as a Literacy Specialist in both reading and writing, in addition to years of Special Education and primary - level classroom teaching. Her Masters of Education from Portland State University focused on communicating with parents. She also has undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education.
Ms. Elena Holmes
Ms. Elena is the EAL teacher for Grades 1 - 3. She was born in Pennsylvania and has a BFA in Fiber Arts and Art Education from Temple University, and a Ma.Ed in Reading from Edinboro University Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to AAM, Ms. Elena taught at the East Penn School District in PA, USA. She loves to read, paint, cook and travel.
Ms. Adeyela Bennett
Ms. Adeyela Bennett is the EAL Specialist for Grades 4 through 8. She has been a professional educator for more than 15 years, having served as a classroom teacher, instructional supervisor, and district-level administrator for the Miami-Dade school system in Florida. Most recently, she taught at a boys' school in Abu Dhabi. Ms. Adeyela holds a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Sociology from Florida International University in Miami, and is working on a Master's degree in International Education from the School for International Studies. She is certified by the State of Florida in Elementary Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
